Are you on the hunt for an effective diet to take off to pounds you night gain over the upcoming holidays? I have researched and found the top ten unhealthiest diets that are out there and you will be amazed at what I have discovered.

10: The Pasta Chocolate Diet

The Pasta Chocolate Diet is basically designed to let you eat whatever you crave such as Pasta’s and Chocolate, which by the way seem to be the worst cravings to kick and the ones that pack on the most pounds.

Because it is believed to be counterproductive for you to deprive yourself from the foods that you want most, this diet allows you to eat all those things and it claims that you can lose around ten pounds from doing so.

This diet focuses on foods such as:

  • Water
  • Popcorn
  • Fresh fruit
  • Pasta and Pasta Sauces
  • Vegetables
  • Salads
  • Chocolate

9: Chicken Soup Diet

The Chicken soup diet is fairly simple. It consists of you eating what you want for breakfast ever day and then eating as much chicken soup as you want for the rest of the day. This diet is believed to make you lose around 10 pounds while doing it.

The problem with this diet is that because you are in taking mostly broth with soup you will be losing mostly water weight which causes you to actually gain all the weight back once you have stopped the diet and can even cause you to gain more than what you started with.

8: Zen Diet

The Zen Diet is a vegetarian diet that is most commonly practiced by monks because of their religious beliefs they have rules they apply to their eating. The dishes used in the Zen diet are often very plain or bland but at the same time can be prepared on a small budget.

The idea of this diet is to consume only fresh fruits or vegetables and no meat, not even eat fish. The diet is meant to cleanse the body and to keep it that way with foods that are not heavy and that are very common. The food for this diet is even prepared without harsh spices such as onions or garlic because they are believed to be excessive.

7: Caveman Diet

The Caveman Diet consists almost totally of protein enriched foods. This diet is dangerous though because it can lead to the overconsumption of fat. The diet does offer a balanced array of vitamins and little carbohydrates.

The diet leaves people with little energy because it cuts out the important carbohydrates that the body needs to avoid feeling restless and over tired. Without the good carbohydrates we need, our body burns out faster.

6: Grapefruit Juice Diet

The grapefruit juice diet stems clear back to the 1930’s and it’s actually quite a common diet, despite its dangers, among Hollywood. The myth of this diet is that people lose weight.

Yes, initially people lose weight but unfortunately it’s usually water weight and not weight from fat; this causes the weight to return once you have stopped dieting.

There is also no significant proof that this grapefruit actually burns fat.

5: Hot Dog Diet (3Days)

The idea of the Hotdog Diet is absurd and requires a very strict eating plan. Many people believe that that they can lose around 10 pounds in three days. During this three day process you can eat only 600 calories daily.

The diet may make you lose weight in those three days because it’s almost inevitable to take in that low amount of calories and no lose something but it is important to remember how much sodium there is in a hotdog so this is not something that you would want to do often. Sodium in large amounts is not healthy for you.

Just like the grapefruit juice diet, the hotdog diet will only be a temporary weight loss. Once you have finished the diet you will almost always gain back the weight you have lost.

DIET

Breakfast:

  • 1 piece of toast
  • 2 tablespoons of peanut butter
  • ? of a grapefruit
  • Black coffee

Lunch:

  • ? cup of tuna
  • 1 piece of toast

Dinner:

  • 2 hotdogs
  • 1 cup string beans
  • 1 cup of beets
  • 1 small apple
  • 1 cup of vanilla ice cream

4: Magnetic Diet

All foods have what is called magnetism. The key to the Magnetic Diet is to find foods that attract healthy things like minerals, vitamins and various antioxidants. This is hard to do and many people get contaminated magnetism that can actually attract diseases to the body.

Contaminated magnetism can be found in many things such as cholesterol, refined sugar and white flour.

3: Blood Type Diet

The blood type diet was introduced by a naturopathic physician, Peter D’Adama, who claims that there are certain diets to follow based on whether you are A, B, AB, or O blood type. There is no evidence to prove that the diets actually work or that they are safe.

2: Air Diet

The Air diet is a diet that is used to trick a person’s stomach into thinking that it has actually consumed more food. The idea is to still feel the same sense of fullness without having to eat the same amount of food, thus reducing calorie intake.

By adding volume to your food with things like whipped milk and fruit or even soups that are very full with broth, you can make yourself feel full by what you are consuming and still not taking in the unhealthy calorie intake.

This is a nice idea except it can not last forever and like many of these other diets, once you finish them, you gain your weight back.

1: Tapeworm Diet:

Out of all the diets used this one is the most dangerous and most deadly; so much that it is been made illegal in the United States.

In order to understand the diet you must know what a tapeworm is. Tapeworms attack the protein in our bodies causing us to digest less food. Basically this means you can eat what you want and the tapeworm gets full and intakes the calories, not you.

If this diet is done for any extensive amount of time it can be deadly and there is almost always the possibility of needing medical attention in order to get rid of the tapeworm and there can be permanent damage done to your vital organs from doing such an irresponsible diet.

Because the tapeworm diet is illegal in the US, it is almost impossible to import and export them and it makes it hard for people to get them, however this does not mean that they are illegal everywhere and that this diet is still not being practiced in some places.

All of these Diets are ridiculous and can be detrimental to your long term health. It is important to know that when starting any diet or exercise plan that you should always consult your Family Physician or a Licensed Nutritionist first.
