It is well known that green tea helps weight loss. In fact research in Japan has proven that consuming green tea daily helps to burn fat, boost metabolism and aid weight loss.
Green Tea can boost your metabolism because it contains powerful antioxidants called catechin polyphenols, these antioxidant together with epigallocatechin gallate (or EGCG for short), have been found to not only stimulate the metabolism but accelerate weight loss.

Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG for short), along with the caffeine in green tea, produces a process known as “thermogenesis” or heat production, by influencing enzymes the metabolic process, which provides extra energy, sheds excess water, and helps to burn body fat.
EGCG seems to increase the amount of calories burned throughout the day for all activities, from digesting food to climbing stairs to typing. It is the key component in green tea that contributes to fat burning and weight loss.

Green tea as a supplement for weight loss is by far one of the best natural supplements on the market to help you lose weight.
There are two ways in which you can use green tea. You can use it either as a tea or as a supplement in capsule form. Needless to say taking it in capsule form means that you will receive a higher potency when compared to the tea as it it more concentrated. If you are going to take a supplement the recommended dose is 1 or 2 500mg capsules twice a day.
Because green tea acts as a stimulant and boosts your metabolism to burn fat it is advised that you take one capsule in the morning and one early afternoon, say around 3.p.m. so that it does not interfere with your sleep patterns and keep you awake all night!
