Yes, it is possible to whittle down your waist and drop two to four inches easily. These 10 weight loss tips are easy to follow and will slim you down in no time. So get ready, grab your tape measure and watch those inches melt away!

1. Eat Eggs for Breakfast

By eating two eggs first thing in the morning you are taking in a form of protein that is filling and will aid your weight loss. A study published in the Journal of American College of Nutrition found that when people ate two eggs for breakfast, they consumed 400 fewer calories over the next 24 hours than when they ate a bagel.

The best way to eat eggs is boiled or poached, but you could also make an omlette with the addition of onions, mushrooms or sweet peppers. But remember to fry your omlette in a non-stick pan sprayed with a low fat oil spray.

2. Keep Your Carbs Moderate

Be wary of carbs particularly if you're an apple shape.

A high intake of refined carbohydrates is linked to a condition called insulin resistance which makes weight loss from the stomach area harder.

Make sure servings of pasta, rice, or potatoes are small, no bigger than your fist, and limit your intake of sugary foods, such as, cookies, chocolate, sweets, chips, and ice cream.

3. Make It Wholegrain

By eating three servings of wholegrain a day you'll max your weight loss.

Wholegrains digest slower, keep you fuller for longer and does not raise blood sugar levels too quickly. Choose from a slice of wholemeal bread, two heaped tablespoons of boiled brown rice, 4oz cooked wholegrain pasta, or a 4oz jacket potato.

4. Stick to Sliced Bread

It is better to choose sliced bread so as to avoid higher-calories speciality loaves which are hard to portion control. Two slices a day of thin sliced wholemeal or multi-grain bread is one serving.

5. Have Five Portions of Fruit & Veg A Day

This is the recommended intake and they should be at the top of your weight loss list. They are packed with antioxidants and vitamins.

For weight loss purposes only drink one glass of juice or smoothie a day. This is advised because juicing fruits concentrates the calories and removes the fibre so that they are no longer weight loss options.

6. Use Low Fat Spread

Swap to low-fat spread, it could save you around 35 calories for each slice of bread you eat!

7. Eat Plenty of Meat and Fish

Lean, trimmed cuts of meat, fish and poultry will help you lose weight fast. They are great for curbing your appetite and keeping you feeling satisfied.

However you should avoid processed meats such as sausages, burgers, hotdogs and salami. They do not help in the battle of the bulge.

8. Include Two Portions of Low Fat Dairy Products

200ml glass of skimmed milk, a small pot of low-fat natural yogurt will be quite sufficient to meet this tip.

9. Listen to Your Body & Hunger Cues

Getting back in tune with your hunger and listening to the cues gives you the best way to stay slim in the long term. You will learn to know how hungry you really are before you put anything in your mouth, and will think, are you genuinely hungry or just eating out of habit.

10. Treat Yourself

There is one thing you should not do and that is deprive yourself altogether. You can do more damage and hinder your weight loss and you are more likely to binge after missing out on that all important treat. One treat a day will make you feel better about yourself and spur you on to lose more weight. You can have a treat worth 150 calories of whatever you like.
