Svendsen-Cook re-signs with Carlin

Rupert Svendsen-CookRupert Svendsen-Cook will return to British Formula 3 for a second season in 2011 after re-signing with leading team Carlin.

The British racer stepped up from Formula BMW Europe last year and scored a reversed grid win and several podiums on his way to seventh in the championship.

“I’m very excited to be with Carlin for another season and to be racing in British F3 again,” said Svendsen- Cook. “It’s a fantastic place to develop as a driver and with Carlin I have a team that I already know and trust.

“I want to take the opportunity to thank my sponsors for trusting and investing in me for another season. I can’t wait to start off next season where we left off in 2010 - challenging for podiums and race wins at every event.”

Svendsen-Cook is the fifth driver to commit to Carlin’s six-car team for 2011. He joins Carlos Huertas, Jack Harvey, Kevin Magnussen and Felipe Nasr at the squad, which is expected to announce its final driver in the coming weeks.

“Rupert was a real asset to the team this year and I’m delighted that he will have the chance to develop further with us in 2011,” said team boss Trevor Carlin.

“The step up from Formula BMW to F3 is much greater than from a championship such as Formula Renault and 2010 was very much a steep learning curve for Rupert.

“He did a fantastic job in his first season of F3 and we see great potential in him for the future.”
