Hunter Dies of NASCAR

DAYTONA BEACH (Florida) - NASCAR Vice President of Corporate Communications Jim Hunter, whose career in Motorsports spanned six decades as a reporter and professional public relations portions died last night in Daytona Beach in Florida after a battle with the cancer.Il 12 months was 71.

A young man growing up in his native Hunter's South Carolina was a player football and baseball at the University of South Carolina. These years have preceded a future to be immersed in the world of sport, mainly Motorsports.Hunter learned Motorsports "both sides" by working as a reporter columnist and a representative of public relations.

As a member of the media, Hunter was editor of the Columbia record sports; it was a passage at the Atlanta Constitution review; It was Stock Car Racing magazine columnist.He has published a number of books, including a biography read widely on NASCAR great David Pearson, entitled "Forever 21."

Hunter is survived by his wife, 48 years, Ann Hunter; her children, Scott Hunter and Amy McKernan and grandchildren Dakota Hunter Hunter and Luke McKernan.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the NASCAR Foundation or Hospice of Volusia, Florida Flagler County.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
